PhRMA Announces Two New VPs

PhRMA has announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents.

Mike Hotra has joined PhRMA Public Affairs as a vice president. He will oversee the strategy for and day-to-day activities associated with our federal advocacy communications.

Hotra joins PhRMA from APCO Worldwide’s Washington office, where he served as executive director and deputy managing director. Prior to that, he served as director of legislation and communication for the American Tort Reform Association (ATRA).

Ken McKay has also joined PhRMA as vice president for State Government Affairs. In this role, McKay will use his experience overseeing state and national campaigns to enhance the execution of PhRMA’s state advocacy strategy on key priority issues.

Most recently, McKay managed Governor Chris Christie’s presidential campaign and then served as political director of Rebuilding America Now. Prior to that time he was the political director at the Republican Governors Association. He also previously served as a senior advisor to U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), held leadership positions on gubernatorial campaigns in Florida and Rhode Island, and served as chief of staff to both a governor and the Republican National Committee. A U.S. Army veteran, Ken also has a law degree and previously practiced law at Brown Rudnick.
