Linagliptin from Alfa Chemistry

Description

Linagliptin is a caffeine and quinazoline derivative that inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4). This mechanism only has a positive effect on type 2 diabetes. The medicine was developed by Boehringer Ingelheim. Linagliptin, unlike other gliptines, can also be given with less renal function. In addition, animal studies indicate that it is significantly more potent than its derivatives and has a very long, dose-independent, half-life.
