"Gestodene is a third-generation synthetic progestin used as a hormonal contraceptive for contraception. The effect is selective and strongly antigonadotrope (gonadotropins = ""trophic"" sex hormones). Due to the high receptor affinity for progestagen, it has an aldosteronantargonistic effect. It is administered exclusively in combination with Ethinylestradiol."
