Description
Dutasteride belongs to the group of steroids. The active substance inhibits an enzyme that breaks down testosterone. The degradation product accelerates the cell division rate and thus the enlargement of the prostatic tissue. It is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperblasia (benign prostate enlargement).
