BIOSTAT® Cplus – Lab Bioreactor for Process Development

Sartorius Stedim Biotech’s stainless steel fermenter | bioreactor the BIOSTAT® Cplus is designed for the cultivation of microorganisms and cell cultures. Typical fields of application include process development for the production of biopharmaceutics, vaccines, biofuels and secondary metabolites, the optimization of batch, fed-batch, continuous and perfusion processes as well as scale-up and scale-down experiments. The Sterilizable-In-Place (SIP) system is equipped with a DCU controller and a number of compelling added functions like gravimetric feed control, advanced DO controller and integrated off-gas measurement. The culture vessels are supplied with operating volumes of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 liters.

Cost-effective Integration into Existing Lab Infrastructures

The BIOSTAT® Cplus lab fermenter | bioreactor features a modular design that allows for individual system configuration in order to meet the users application-specific requirements. For example, additional functions are available, like automatic pressure control or integrated off-gas measurement, as well as resterilizable addition valves and sterile sampling kits. The culture vessel can be sterilized with electro or steam heating, which allows the fermenter | bioreactor to be integrated into existing infrastructure easily and cost-effectively. The compact design of this system saves valuable laboratory space; rollers under the supply unit ensure the required system mobility and let you move the system around to other labs or allow for easy unimpeded access to clean the floor underneath.

Proven DCU-driven Process Control

The DCU controller belongs to the most proven, reliable and flexible control solutions in the upstream and downstream process and has now been incorporated in the new BIOSTAT® Cplus. Its touch screen operation is easy and intuitive and also reduces the risks of faulty operation while shortening the learning curve when training new operators. Attractive new additional functions like the "advanced DO controller" and automatic sequences for sterilization and the pressure hold test ensure optimal process control and a high degree of safety.
