Amneal Pharmaceuticals has announced the launch of its first-to-market generic equivalent of Voltaren® Gel (diclofenac sodium topical gel) 1% in the United States. Amneal recently received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Abbreviated New Drug Application for the product.

According to IMS Health, the U.S. sales of diclofenac sodium topical gel were approximately $413 million, for the 12 months ending January 2016.
