Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals announced the board of directors elected biotechnology executive William Waddill as an independent director of the company, with a term beginning effective January 1, 2018. It is anticipated that Waddill will serve on the Audit, Compensation, and Nomination Committees.
“Will is an accomplished biotechnology executive and board member and we look forward to working with him during this exciting time for Arrowhead as the company advances its pipeline of RNAi-therapeutics,” Douglass Given, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of the Board of Arrowhead said.
Waddill began his career 30 years ago in commercial banking and public accounting and has been in the biotechnology industry for over 25 years. Currently, he is on the board of Protagonist Therapeutics and most recently was Senior Vice President and CFO of Calithera Bioscience. Prior to Calithera, Waddill was Senior Vice President and CFO at OncoMed Pharmaceuticals from 2007 to 2014. Waddill served as the Senior Vice President and CFO of Ilypsa, Inc., a biotechnology company that was acquired in 2007 by Amgen. Before joining Ilypsa, he served as the founder and principal at Square One Finance, a financial consulting business, and Waddill served as Senior Director of Finance and Administration at Exelixis, a biotechnology company. Waddill received a BS in accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and certification as a public accountant (inactive) after working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte in Boston.
