Zelgen, AbbVie Sign Up-to-$1.2B DLL3 T Cell Engager Licensing Option Deal

Suzhou Zelgen Biopharmaceuticals has entered a global strategic collaboration and licensing option agreement with AbbVie for ZG006 (alveltamig), a trispecific T‑cell engager targeting DLL3 for small cell lung cancer and other DLL3‑expressing tumors. Under the deal, AbbVie receives exclusive rights to develop and commercialize ZG006 outside Greater China, while Zelgen retains development and commercialization rights in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Financial terms include a 100 million dollar upfront payment to Zelgen and up to 60 million dollars in near‑term clinical and option‑related milestones. If AbbVie exercises its license option, Zelgen is eligible for as much as 1.075 billion dollars in additional regulatory and commercial milestone payments, plus tiered royalties ranging from high single digits to the mid‑teens on ex‑China net sales.

ZG006 is in late‑stage development and has received orphan drug designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and breakthrough therapy designation from China’s NMPA for small cell lung cancer and DLL3‑positive neuroendocrine carcinomas. Zelgen said the non‑dilutive capital will support its R&D programs and preparation for commercialization in China, while AbbVie gains a late‑stage DLL3 asset to strengthen its oncology portfolio beyond prior DLL3 efforts.
