Charles River Laboratories Names New CFO and Chief Legal Officer in Executive Reshuffle

Charles River Laboratories has announced two senior executive appointments as part of a broader leadership transition, including the hiring of a new chief financial officer and the creation of a chief legal officer role.

Glenn G. Coleman has been appointed Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective April 6, and will lead the company’s global finance organization. His responsibilities will include accounting, tax, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, risk management, facilities and real estate, and procurement. Coleman succeeds Michael G. Knell, who has been serving as interim CFO and will continue in his role as Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.

In a parallel move, Charles River has appointed Kerry Dailey as Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, a newly created position that will take effect on March 30. Dailey will oversee the company’s legal and compliance functions, as well as corporate communications, government relations, security, and global environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities.

The company stated that current General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer Matthew L. Daniel will assist with the transition until July 1, after which he plans to leave his position. Charles River framed the appointments as part of its ongoing leadership planning as it prepares for an upcoming CEO transition and continues to focus on growth, operational execution, and governance priorities.
