Bayer has announced that Nelson Ambrogio, currently President of the company’s global Radiology business, will become President of Bayer U.S. Pharmaceuticals effective May 1, 2026. In his new role, Ambrogio will lead Bayer’s largest and fastest-growing pharmaceutical market as the company focuses on renewing top-line growth and maximizing the value of its pipeline.
Ambrogio will oversee U.S. commercial pharmaceutical operations and guide the organization through a critical period marked by growth in key therapeutic areas, including prostate cancer, cardiovascular care, women’s healthcare, and Bayer’s emerging portfolio in secondary stroke prevention. He will join the Pharmaceuticals Worldwide Markets Leadership Team and report directly to Sebastian Guth, Chief Operating Officer of Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division.
Guth will continue to oversee all global markets in his role as COO and will retain his responsibilities as President of the Bayer Group in the U.S., remaining based in New Jersey. He cited Ambrogio’s track record leading the global Radiology business and his prior leadership roles in U.S. oncology and women’s health as key assets for driving the next chapter of U.S. pharmaceutical growth.
Ambrogio said he is honored to assume the role and highlighted Bayer’s mission-driven culture and commitment to patients and customers. The leadership move aligns with Bayer’s broader strategy to strengthen performance, deliver innovation from its pipeline, and capture the full growth potential of its U.S. pharmaceuticals business.
