Valerio Therapeutics And Abivax Agree On Global Research Collaboration In Immune-Mediated Diseases

Valerio Therapeutics has entered into a binding term sheet with Abivax for an exclusive worldwide research and development collaboration focused on immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases.

Under the proposed agreement, the companies will jointly identify, design, and evaluate next‑generation therapeutic candidates by combining Abivax’s expertise in immune‑mediated conditions with Valerio’s precision‑guided RNA technology platforms. The collaboration will cover generation, manufacturing, and preclinical evaluation of research candidates, which may be further developed by Abivax following assessment of their therapeutic potential.

Valerio is set to receive an upfront payment of up to approximately €2.4 million under the term sheet and would be eligible for development and commercial milestone payments, as well as royalties on net sales and sublicensing revenues. These financial terms are contingent on the execution of a definitive co‑ownership and license agreement and achievement of specified milestones.

Alongside the collaboration announcement, Valerio outlined progress in its internal pipeline, highlighting three proprietary precision RNA therapeutics programs. Lead candidates VTX‑001 and VTX‑002 are being developed in the areas of immunity and inflammation. The company is targeting nomination of up to two development candidates within 12–18 months and plans to advance at least one program into first‑in‑human studies within 18–24 months.

Executives from both firms said the collaboration is intended to leverage complementary scientific capabilities as they explore new therapeutic approaches for immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases.
