Moberg Pharma is reshaping its management team ahead of planned launches across Europe and other international markets, adding two senior executives while Christina Erixon steps down from the leadership group.
The Stockholm-based company has appointed Helena Jansson as chief business officer and deputy chief executive officer, and Vaidrius Navikas, MD, PhD, MBA, as chief medical officer. Both will join the management team as Moberg Pharma prepares for increasing commercial and regulatory activity.
Erixon, senior director of product management, will step down from the management team but remain with Moberg Pharma as a part-time consultant. Following the changes, the company’s management team will include Chief Executive Officer Anna Ljung, Annica Magnusson, Jansson, Mark Beveridge and Navikas.
Moberg Pharma said it is in a growth phase, with launch preparations underway in a large number of countries and regulatory processes expanding into new markets. During the spring, the company broadened its collaboration with Karo Healthcare. The companies now work together in 19 European markets, as well as Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan and China.
Jansson brings more than 30 years of experience in business management, business development and life-sciences commercialization. Her background includes global marketing, sales and commercial operations leadership. Most recently, she was managing director of Palette Life Sciences AB. She has also held responsibility for commercial portfolios at BioPhausia AB and Medivir AB.
Navikas has more than 30 years of global experience in pharmaceutical development and commercialization. Before joining Moberg Pharma, he was head of global medical affairs at H. Lundbeck A/S. His experience includes clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy and scientific engagement, according to the company.
Ljung thanked Erixon for her contribution to Moberg Pharma and participation in the management team. She said Jansson’s experience in business development, partnerships and commercialization, along with Navikas’ medical expertise, would strengthen the company for its next stage of development.
The appointments are intended to support Moberg Pharma’s growing launch and regulatory agenda across its expanding international footprint.
