Quince Relaunches as IRulya, Focuses on Lung Disease Drug

Quince Therapeutics has changed its name to IRulya Therapeutics and appointed new leadership as it focuses on developing LAM-001, an investigational inhaled formulation of rapamycin for three pulmonary diseases. Its shares begin trading on Nasdaq under the ticker IRLA on Oct. 12.

The changes follow Quince’s merger with privately held Orphai Therapeutics and a concurrent private placement that generated approximately $115 million in upfront gross proceeds in May 2026.

IRulya reported $116 million in cash as of June 30 and expects that balance to fund operations through the end of 2028, including planned Phase 2 clinical data readouts.

LAM-001 is a once-daily dry powder formulation designed to increase delivery of rapamycin to the lungs while reducing systemic exposure compared with oral or systemic administration. Rapamycin inhibits mTOR, a pathway involved in cell growth, repair and responses to stress.

An ongoing Phase 2 trial is evaluating LAM-001 for bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome following lung transplantation, with results expected in the first quarter of 2027.

A Phase 2b study in pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease has begun, with data anticipated in the first quarter of 2028. IRulya plans to initiate a Phase 2 trial in sarcoidosis-associated pulmonary hypertension in the fourth quarter of 2026, targeting results in late 2028.

Brigette Roberts becomes chief executive, John Militello chief financial officer and Keith Fandrick chief operating officer. Former chief executive Dirk Thye and chief operating officer Brendan Hannah resigned. The board added Catherine Bonuccelli, Leone Patterson, James Valentine and Drayton Wise as new directors.
