Insilico Earns First Milestone Payment in Servier Cancer Research Deal

Insilico Medicine has reached the first research milestone in its drug discovery collaboration with Servier, triggering an undisclosed payment under an agreement potentially worth up to $888 million.

The companies have initiated two oncology research programs and completed target nominations for both since announcing the partnership in early 2026. Insilico said the first program met predefined criteria for an early discovery milestone.

The multiyear agreement includes $32 million in upfront and near-term research and development payments. The announcement did not disclose the latest payment’s size or identify the cancer targets, compounds or specific criteria met.

Under the agreement, Insilico leads discovery and early development using its Pharma.AI platform. Servier shares research expenses and will take responsibility for subsequent clinical validation and commercialization.

The collaboration focuses on small-molecule treatments for oncology targets. The reported milestone concerns early discovery rather than evidence of safety or efficacy in patients.

Insilico founder and Chief Executive Alex Zhavoronkov said the companies had initiated both programs and reached the first milestone within 10 months of launching the collaboration.

Separately, Insilico reported approximately $106 million in revenue for the first half of 2026, up 287% from a year earlier, and adjusted net profit exceeding $51 million. The company attributed those results primarily to licensing, co-development and research partnerships.

Insilico also said it nominated 11 preclinical candidates during the first 10 months of 2026, bringing its total since 2021 to 35.
