Brise Pharmaceuticals has provided an update on its exclusive license agreement with AbbVie, which the companies entered in 2024. Under the collaboration, Brise is responsible for discovery efforts and AbbVie will lead global development and commercialization activities for two of Brise's preclinical migraine programs.
The aggregated potential transaction value, including development, commercial, regulatory and sales milestones, could reach up to $757 million, plus royalties on future sales. Brise said it has already achieved several near-term milestones under the agreement.
Brise CEO Guochun Li said the collaboration validates the company's research platform in migraine and that partnering with AbbVie allows it to maximize the value of its discovery engine while continuing to invest in next-wave therapies.
Brise Pharmaceuticals was founded in June 2021 in Shanghai. The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company develops multi-modality therapeutics for debilitating pain conditions, including migraine, nociceptive, neuropathic and nociplastic pain. The company integrates small molecules and targeted antibody therapeutics to modulate complex pain pathways.
Brise's pipeline includes BR005, an oral small molecule in pivotal clinical trials for the acute treatment of migraine in adults, along with a portfolio of next-generation candidates advancing toward IND.
