Dr Hala Fadda is a pharmacist with a PhD in Pharmaceutics from University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy (UK). After post-doctoral fellowships at UCL School of Pharmacy, UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Purdue University (IN, USA), Hala joined Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (IN, USA) where she is now Professor of Pharmacy. Hala is Chair of Pediatric Formulations Focus Group at International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), Honorary Professor at UCL, Adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO) and a member of WHO Biowaiver Project. Hala co-developed Octasa®, a commercialized oral colonic drug delivery formulation for ulcerative colitis. Her research works towards developing pharmaceutical methodologies that optimize oral and ophthalmic drug product design by identifying, predicting and mitigating variability in drug exposure.
