Rose Blackburne, MD, MBA, is executive medical director, global product development, general medicine, at PPD. Dr. Blackburne is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. In addition to serving as a practicing physician, she has spent 14 years in clinical research product development as a CRO medical executive and has been instrumental in the approval of numerous pharmaceutical, medical devices and vaccine products. Dr. Blackburne earned her medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine, and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business. Dr. Blackburne is serving a four-year appointment as industry representative to the FDA Patient Engagement Advisory Committee in the Centers for Device and Radiologic Health.
