Patrícia Pereira completed her PhD in Biochemistry in 2016 by Centro de Investigação em Ciências da Saúde, University of Beira Interior - CICSUBI, Portugal, and is currently a Post-doctoral researcher at Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier, University Nova de Lisboa (ITQB-NOVA, Portugal). Her current research interests include
