Description
Compritol® is a well-defined, multi-constituent, atomized excipient composed of mono-, di- and triglycerides of behenic acid (C22), the diester fraction being predominant (40-60%). This water insoluble, non-dispersible, and inert excipient can be used as a lubricant and sustained release agent in tablets and other dosage forms.
It conforms to US and European monographs for Glycerol dibehenate NF or EP and is in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as Glyceryl behenate ChP.
