Description
Labrafac™ MC60 consists of mono- and diglycerides of caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10), the monoester fraction being predominant (45-75%), and it performs as a water insoluble liquid cosurfactant in lipid-based formulations, solubilizer of poorly soluble APIs, and intestinal permeation enhancer of poorly permeable drugs.
Its monograph names, Glyceryl Mono and Dicaprylocaprate NF, Glyceryl Monocaprylocaprate (type I) NF (until May 1, 2025), and Glycerol monocaprylocaprate (type I) EP can be found in many pharmaceutical product ingredient listings.
