Extractables & Leachables (E&L) for Small-Volume Parenterals
Sponsored by Nelson Labs
During their production, storage, and distribution, small-volume parenteral (SVP) drug products leach chemicals from their manufacturing, packaging, and delivery systems. These leached chemicals, called leachables, can potentially have a significant effect on the quality of the SVPs. They may also affect the efficiency with which the SVP is produced. Therefore, drug products must be profiled for leachables; and manufacturing, packaging, and delivery systems must be tested for extractables, which will indicate the probable leachables. Learn more about the best practices for the design, implementation, interpretation, and submission of E&L studies for SVPs.
