Differential Scanning Calorimeters (DSC)

Differential Scanning Calorimeters (DSC) Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is a thermoanalytical technique in which the difference in the amount of heat required to increase the temperature of a sample and reference is measured as a function of temperature. Core to pharmaceutical thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimeters are used to understand amorphous and crystalline behavior, polymorph and eutectic transitions, curing and degree of cure, and many other material properties used to design, manufacture, and test pharmaceutical products.
