Description
Cinitapride is a gastroprokinetic agent and antiulcer benzamide with agonist activity at 5-HT1 and 5-HT4 receptors and antagonist activity at 5-HT2 receptors. Cinitapride indirectly stimulates the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that can increase the motility of the intestine. It works by increasing the movement of the esophagus (feeding tube), stomach and intestines during digestion.
