COMPANY BACKGROUND

PMS was founded 50 years ago in Boulder, Colorado, USA by Dr. Knollenberg who invented the laser particle counter to count and measure the sizes of particles in air. In 1978 PMS sent the first particle spectrometer into space on the Pioneer Venus Probe. In 1985 it incorporated its portfolio of particle monitors into full Facility Monitoring Systems. In 1996 PMS was acquired by Spectris, whose continuing focus is to equip their customers with the ability to reduce time to market, improve processes, quality and yield.

MARKETS SERVED

PMS is the industry leader in environmental particle monitoring sensitivity and is the only complete contamination monitoring solution provider. PMS delivers not only microcontamination instruments, but also expert consultants, data management software, and training and education to the many global markets we serve; including: Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences, Semiconductor/ Microelectronics, Aerospace, Defense, Photonics, Food, Cosmetics, and more.

PRODUCTS, SERVICES & CAPABILITIES

PMS are the experts in Particle Counting Contamination Monitoring Solutions Since 1972 with presence around the globe. Our experts are recognized as thought leaders, evidenced through our speaking requests, webinars, and authored papers. Our technology experts actively participate with customers and industry standards committees to understand the evolving needs and challenges faced by our broad customer base.

We create the technology that enables you to make fact-based decisions, improve yield process, and comply with changing global regulatory requirements such as Annex 1, ISO 14644-1, 21CFR Part 11, and more. Our technology can measure particle sizes as small as 20 nm in water and chemicals, 10 um in air, and molecular contamination concentrations in parts per trillion. We are also leaders in microbial monitoring, developing traditional techniques that reduce false positives.
