Chiral Technologies Welcomes Dr. Jauh-Tzuoh Lee as Technology Manager

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (July 9, 2012) — Chiral Technologies, Inc., (CTI) announced that Jauh-Tzuoh (J.T.) Lee, Ph.D., has joined the company as Technology Manager. In this position, Dr. Lee will be responsible for planning and directing CTI’s technology activities and providing leadership in the development of new products.

 Reporting to Joseph Barendt, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Lee also will act as CTI’s liaison within Daicel’s global technology network. Dr. Lee’s knowledge of chiral chromatography, specifically enantiorecognition mechanisms and screening methodologies, will serve to advance CTI’s technical expertise in the market.

“Dr. Lee’s years of experience in both the design and use of chiral stationary phases, as well as his in-depth knowledge of chromatography, are very positive additions to Chiral Technologies’ global initiative to innovate new chirality tool,” stated Dr. Barendt.

 “Chiral Technologies is the leader in chiral chromatography, and I am very excited about joining the team,” Dr. Lee said.

 Previously, Dr. Lee worked as a Methods Development Manager for Advanced Separation Technologies, Inc. (Astech). He joined Supelco/Sigma-Aldrich as a Principal Scientist when the company acquired Astech in 2007. Prior to that, Dr. Lee was a research associate and lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Rolla. In addition, he has published in several industry books and journals.

 Dr. Lee received a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from National Taiwan University.
