Join Lonza’s March Webinar on Endotoxin Detection Methods

Walkersville, USA / Cologne, Germany, 20 February 2013 – There are many Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) methods commercially available today. Hence, Lonza is hosting a free, 60-minute webinar entitled "Endotoxin Detection – Which Method Is Best for Me" at two different dates and times. The sessions address assay performances and limitations for quality control (QC) professionals and will be followed by a live Q&A. The first webinar is scheduled for 19 March 2013 at 10 AM CET (Berlin). The second session will be held on 20 March 2013 at 2 PM EST (New York). For more details, please visitwww.lonza.com/webinar1.

The webinar will cover endotoxin detection practices to test products for the presence of Gram-negative bacteria. These methods include gel clot, semi-quantitative gel clot, chromogenic endpoint, turbidimetric endpoint, kinetic chromogenic and kinetic turbidimetric. The presenters will share a look at the advantages and disadvantages of each assay. More specifically, attendees will learn which assay is more appropriate for their individual testing needs and how each assay is performed. In addition, the presenters will give details on alternatives to the traditional LAL-based assay. Endotoxin detection tests are performed on raw and in-process materials and for the final release of products in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
