Navamedic ASA Enters Addiction Treatment Market with Acquisition of DNE Pharma

Navamedic ASA, a Nordic pharmaceutical company, has announced a strategic expansion into addiction treatment through the acquisition of the business of Norwegian company DNE Pharma for up to NOK 225 million. The deal marks Navamedic’s first move into the fast-growing field of addiction pharmaceuticals and includes DNE Pharma’s entire product portfolio, key employees, intellectual property, and essential business contracts.

DNE Pharma is recognized for its specialized addiction treatment products, notably Ventizolve®—an intranasal naloxone spray for opioid overdose reversal—Levopidon® (levomethadone), and Metadon Dne (methadone) for opioid substitution therapy. These products will be integrated into Navamedic’s commercial platform, supporting rapid market access and expansion across the Nordics and selected European markets.

The acquisition will be financed through a combination of NOK 110 million in new debt from Nordea Bank and a partially underwritten rights issue. In 2024, DNE Pharma reported net sales of NOK 62 million, and the deal is expected to contribute approximately NOK 25 million in annual EBITDA, supporting Navamedic’s ambition to become a leading provider of specialized hospital and pharmacy products in the region.

Navamedic’s CEO, Kathrine Gamborg Andreassen, highlighted the acquisition as a key step in delivering high-quality products in a therapeutic area with significant societal impact2.
