Description
Amiodarone hydrochloride is a highly lipophilic Benzofuran derivate used in life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. Even with severe pumping dysfunction, the cardiac performance is reduced only slightly. Due to its lipophilic properties, it exhibits half-lives between 30 and well over 100 days, this can put a heavy strain on the liver.
