Sanyou Bio, Baiyunshan Xihe Partner on Radiopharmaceutical and Diagnostic Development

Sanyou Bio and Guangzhou Baiyunshan Xihe Health Pharmaceutical have entered a strategic collaboration to co-develop radiopharmaceuticals and radiodiagnostic products, targeting applications in oncology.

The partnership combines Sanyou Bio’s antibody discovery and artificial intelligence-driven molecular design capabilities with Baiyunshan Xihe’s infrastructure for radionuclide production, GMP manufacturing, and clinical translation. The companies plan to establish an integrated development framework spanning early-stage target discovery through preclinical evaluation and clinical advancement.

Radiopharmaceutical development presents technical challenges related to targeting precision, molecular stability, and compatibility with radioactive isotopes. Under the agreement, Sanyou Bio will focus on generating and optimizing targeting molecules using its AI-based platforms, while Baiyunshan Xihe will support radiolabeling, in vitro and in vivo testing, and downstream development activities.

The collaboration will also support development of a portfolio of diagnostic and therapeutic candidates using radionuclides such as gallium-68, zirconium-89, copper-64, and rhenium-186. These isotopes are commonly used in imaging and targeted radiotherapy approaches.

Radiopharmaceuticals have gained attention in oncology for their ability to deliver radiation directly to tumors while limiting systemic exposure. Companies are increasingly investing in platforms that link targeting molecules with radionuclides to support both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic applications.

The companies said the collaboration is intended to streamline development timelines and support translation of candidate molecules into clinical studies. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
