Eli Lilly reported new analyses showing its inflammatory bowel disease treatment Omvoh helped some patients achieve multiple measures of disease control without corticosteroids after one year in the Phase 3 LUCENT and VIVID programs.
The post hoc analyses will be presented at United European Gastroenterology Week 2026. They assessed composite outcomes combining several treatment goals rather than measuring individual endpoints separately.
In LUCENT-2, 27.7% of Omvoh-treated patients with ulcerative colitis achieved comprehensive disease control, compared with 14% receiving placebo. The analysis included patients who responded to Omvoh during the preceding LUCENT-1 induction trial and were randomized again for maintenance treatment.
The composite combined clinical remission, histologic remission, normalized fecal calprotectin and no corticosteroid use for at least 12 weeks before Week 52.
Among patients with previous biologic treatment failure, 23.4% receiving Omvoh achieved comprehensive disease control, versus 9.4% receiving placebo.
In VIVID-1, 20.4% of Omvoh-treated patients with Crohn’s disease achieved corticosteroid-free deep remission, compared with 2% receiving placebo. This outcome combined clinical and endoscopic remission with no corticosteroid use for at least 12 weeks.
Among patients with prior biologic failure, the corresponding rates were 15.7% and zero.
Patients meeting the composite outcomes were also more likely to achieve remission on a questionnaire measuring disease-related quality of life.
The analyses were conducted after the trials and do not represent newly reported primary endpoints. Lilly cited previously reported safety findings, including respiratory infections, injection-site reactions, headache and joint pain.
Omvoh is approved to treat moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease in adults.
