Solving purification challenges in novel antibody therapeutics manufacturing

Affinity purification using bacterial surface proteins such as Protein A or L are well-established platforms in the manufacturing process of therapeutic antibodies. However, with the development of engineered modalities such as bi-specific antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins and antibody fragments, challenges in the purification process of these molecules arise. Affinity chromatography resins, specifically developed for the purification novel antibody formats, can provide an alternative solution in the downstream process of these molecules. These resins feature unique specificity towards antibody subdomains and have mild elution properties, thereby solving the purification challenges associated with the manufacturing of novel antibody therapeutics.
