Bio-layer interferometry (BLI) is a label-free technology used for measuring biomolecular interactions. An optical technique, it analyzes the interference pattern of white light reflected from two interfaces: a layer of immobilized protein on the biosensor tip, and an internal reference layer. Even the slightest alteration in the number of molecules affixed to the biosensor tip triggers an adjustment in the interference pattern, which can be measured in real-time.
The articles in this publication provide and overview of BLI technology and its applications for pharmaceutical use. Specifically, the articles explore the use of the Octet line of BLI instruments and how they can be used to modernized quality control testing, increase efficiency, enhance productivity, and meet validation requirements.
