Differential Scanning Calorimeters for Pharmaceuticals

Differential Scanning Calorimeters for Pharmaceuticals

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is a thermoanalytical technique in which the difference in the amount of heat required to increase the temperature of a sample and reference is measured as a function of temperature.

The differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is a fundamental tool in thermal analysis. The information these instruments generate is used to understand amorphous and crystalline behavior, polymorph and eutectic transitions, curing and degree of cure, and many other material properties used to design manufacture, and test pharmaceutical products.
